‘Live’s Mark Consuelos Intentionally Terrified His Housekeeper — Only To Find Out He Had A Pacemaker

Halloween may be creeping around the corner — but you might want to double-check someone’s health conditions before you decide to jump out and scare them. Take it from Mark Consuelos, who had to learn the hard way.
On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Consuelos reflected on his time living in Vancouver, where he had a housekeeper named Alloy who would get scared every time he walked into a room.
“He’d come and take care of the house and deliver stuff and make sure it’s all nice and neat. But when I’d walk into the room, any room, he would get scared — alarmed,” Consuelos explained. “I became slightly annoyed with Alloy.”
He continued, “I came home one day from the gym and he was cleaning the house. And Alloy [said], ‘Ah! You scared me, Mr. Mark. You scared me!’ And I said, ‘Did I really scare you?’ He said, ‘Yes!’ I said, ‘Well, I just walked into the room Alloy.'”
In Alloy’s defense, Kelly Ripa noted that Consuelos is typically very quiet as he enters a room.
“You are very stealthy so you come in like an operative,” she told her husband. “[We] wonder how long you were there before we notice you were there.”
The Riverdale alum then remembered the time he decided to intentionally terrify his employee. But before he got too far in, Ripa warned the audience that it was “actually a terrible story.”
“We had a partition in the living room and the family room — I walked around the partition and I waited until he was vacuuming,” Consuelos said. “He walked back into me. I went, ‘Ah!’ And he grabs his heart. He goes, ‘No, no, no, no!’”
Consuelos added, “Alloy has a pacemaker. Alloy still has a pacemaker. Just got an upgrade, by the way, not too long ago.”
From that moment on, Consuelos — who apologized upon the revelation — would announce himself anytime he entered the house.
“‘Alloy, I’m home! Alloy, I’m entering the kitchen! Alloy, I’m going to the bathroom — I’ll be there for about two minutes and 57 seconds! I’m gonna wash my hands and then I’m gonna come out of the bathroom and I’m gonna walk into the kitchen!'” he reenacted. “It was our little joke.”
