O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, how… flaccid are your branches? On this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa shared more holiday decorating anecdotes, this time about their Christmas tree. However, she noted that they “had two trees this year,” explaining that “one arrived and it was too big” to fit into their house.
“[The] Christmas tree is like a big deal for me every year. It’s what I look forward to. And when the tree arrived, and they cut it open, it was like a scene out of Family Vacation,” she explained. “It was like a blooming onion.”
Ripa detailed that the tree was “three feet taller than [their] room” and “was the width of the room.”
“So we got what I like to call ‘tree-zempic’ or ‘pine-jaro,'” she quipped. “She’s skinny. Don’t skinny-shame her. She’s sensitive about it. She’s been exercising every day.”
Ripa and Mark Consuelos shared a picture of their “beautiful” tree, though they admitted that hanging ornaments has been a struggle.
“You put even the lightest ornament and the branches are like, ‘I can’t,'” Ripa joked.
Consuelos teased, “I heard terms like, ‘These branches are flaccid.’… I said, ‘Excuse me? Don’t talk to her that way.'”
Though Ripa said “most of the ornaments are on the inside of the tree,” Consuelos insisted that their tree is “the proper width,” acknowledging that they can still “sit in the room.”

Ripa added, “I’ve never been able to get around to the back side of the tree. It’s usually under-decorated because you just can’t get back there. But now, it’s fully dressed.”
