We’re less than a week away from Live with Kelly and Mark being, well, live again! While the show has continued to provide new pre-taped content amid its summer hiatus, we can’t wait to see what Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have in store for Season 36. Luckily, we have you covered on everything you need to know!

According to a press release provided to Decider, the Live family will officially return to the studio following the long weekend on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

But first, the show — which is rated the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television — is set to welcome Derek Hough as a guest on the Monday, Sept. 4 episode, where he will discuss the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. For those who haven’t kept up, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and Bachelorette star Charity Lawson are confirmed to compete, while Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino is also rumored to join the dance competition show.

When Ripa and Consuelos return for Season 36, they will introduce a new competitive trivia game called “STUMP MARK!” In the game, Consuelos will “try his darnedest” to keep trivia callers trying to “stump him” with their true and false statements from winning the iconic Live mug. 

Ripa previously opened up about the revamped segment while speaking to The Purist.

“Mark has taken the trivia game, where Ryan [Seacrest] and I would just give away coffee mugs to the audience, and decided that he’s not going to do that anymore,” she said. “‘There are no participation trophies in life,’ he says, ‘If they want to win a mug, they’re going to have to stump me.’”

Ripa added, “I don’t really follow the ratings, but from what I’ve been told that since Mark has taken over, people stay with the show all the way through because they want to see whether or not Mark gets stumped.”

Aside from the game, the longtime married couple will welcome Grammy Award-winning artist Melissa Etheridge, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Broadway star Josh Gad and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips to the Live studio.

Plus, Ripa and Consuelos will be partaking in a themed week called “Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork” — where they will put their relationship to the test and see how well they work together as a team through a series of “physical challenges.”
