NextImg:‘Live with Kelly & Mark’: Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Say Their Kids Argue Over What’s Getting Left to Them Once They Die

More On:

Kelly Ripa

It’s getting dark on Live with Kelly and Mark as Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are going on two consecutive days of discussing what’s going to happen after they die. According to the co-hosts, their children are already arguing over what gets left to them once their parents kick the bucket.

The conversation began as a chat about Gen-Z’s obsession with Y2K trends — an era which Consuelos proclaimed was “not a good fashion moment.” Despite praising his wife for keeping decades-old items that eventually come back into style, he couldn’t understand why people overpay for certain articles of clothing.

“You know that dress that I always break out that you love? That was a very expensive dress,” Ripa said. “Do you know how many times I’ve worn it? 100,000 times. Price per wear? It’s paying me!”

While she said she would “never sell that dress,” she revealed that she might consider donating it to her daughter, Lola — “who will then happily sell” her clothes.

“You know what’s interesting? What’s interesting is listening to the kids argue about what’s gonna be theirs when I’m gone,” Ripa said. “And I’m like, ‘You’re all assuming that I’m gonna leave you anything at all. Am I going somewhere?'”

After confirming that there have been “discussions,” Consuelos added that their two sons, Michael and Joaquin, are both eyeing up his watch collection.

“I’m like, ‘If you can tell time on this watch, you get it. Big hand, long hand. What does this mean to you? If you can tell me what time it is right now, you get this watch,'” Consuelos joked, to which Ripa replied, “Lola would figure it out. She would figure it out just to get the watches away from her brothers.”

This isn’t the first time this week the couple has talked about death. On Tuesday’s (Aug. 8) episode of Live, Ripa speculated that she will “outlive” Consuelos “by a lot” — at least, according to statistics stating that women typically have a longer lifespan than men.

“I’m just talking about what I’m witnessing so far in terms of us falling apart. I think that you are disintegrating at a faster pace than I am,” she said, before later quipping, “Also, I look forward to someday having my own bathroom.”
