The Dune popcorn bucket may now be a thing of the past, but Kelly Ripa‘s got some enhancement ideas.
On Thursday’s previously recorded installment of Live with Kelly and Mark, she and Mark Consuelos talked about the Dune sequel, which she deemed “the blockbuster of all blockbusters.”
“And you know that worm thing? The big worm thing? The big villainous monster,” she continued. “Can you tell I haven’t seen Dune or Dune 2?”
Ripa revealed she hasn’t read the books either, nor does she “know anything about Dune.”
“But I know there’s a worm thing,” she added, “because they’ve made a popcorn bucket in the likeness of the Dune worm.”
Although Consuelos claimed he “wouldn’t like that,” Ripa offered up what she likes about it, noting that “you gotta stick your hand into the worm’s mouth to get the popcorn.” Although Consuelos insisted that Ripa “would hate that,” Ripa countered with the idea that it “might control [her] popcorn consumption.”
“As a matter of fact, I would like it if it bit me,” she quipped. “You know what I mean? After you had your sensible serving, then it locked your hand in and said, ‘No more for you, you’ve had enough, that’s all you get.'”
Consuelos teased that she’s “on to something,” prompting Ripa to call her proposal “the idea of all ideas.”

“We can all agree, when we go into the movie theatre, I like to have popcorn. I will eat the entire tub of buttered popcorn,” she admitted, prompting Consuelos to quip, “Can’t stop, won’t stop.”
Ripa continued, “But if this bit my hand off, I might stop.”
Meanwhile Consuelos highlighted that his wife and co-host “do[es]n’t like worms,” meaning she may find the bucket “revolting.”
