After President Biden and his administration lied about the southern border, Afghanistan, concerned school board parents, Hunter Biden and the Inflation Reduction Act, among a host of additional subjects, it turns out they were full of it when they claimed that the Chinese spy balloon was harmless (“Ballooning scandal,” April 4).

It starts at the top. The fallout from Biden’s incompetence is that fentanyl and opioids from China are killing American youth. The Chinese Communist Party is buying up land all over America. They are and have been investing in major real estate in big cities. The have bought the minds of our youth with TikTok.
They fly spy balloons from west to east, surveilling our military installations, gathering sensitive intelligence.
The CCP wants to take over the world, and very few in power want to stop it. So who’s protecting America?

Another glittering foreign “win,” spun from start to finish by the White House, as it craftily shot down China’s spy balloon off the Carolina coast — and after it traversed our silo fields.
This from the guys who gave us slick Afghanistan maneuvering, failing to hold Russia to a “minor incursion,” trying to fist-bump a Saudi prince into hiking production and so on. We are winning in ways that no one can deny.

When we learn the administration allowed a Chinese spy balloon to collect intel from several sensitive military installations, one has to ask: Why? And what else has Biden allowed in exchange for his family’s “close ties” to the Communist nation?
Could one assume the “messy” retreat from Afghanistan, leaving behind a mineral-rich nation and Bagram Airfield (our closest intelligence base to China) was a quid pro quo?

The Issue: Mayor Adams’ warning to protesters ahead of Donald Trump’s arraignment on Tuesday.
Mayor Adams is a clown and an embarrassment to all New Yorkers (“Adams: Keep under ‘control’ MAGA, MTG,” April 4).
Adams’ warning to Americans lawfully exercising their constitutional right to protest injustice to “be on [their] best behavior” is both laughable and ironic.
Adams can’t keep his city on its best behavior ever. The man has presided over alarmingly high levels of violent crimes, which go unpunished by folks like the Manhattan prosecutor, leading to further violent and deadly crimes.
Maybe Adams should be on his “best behavior” and start governing his city competently.
Perhaps he might consider rooting out corruption, starting with politicized prosecutors like the despicable District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Bragg should be disbarred (in a just world).

Adams warned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, “if anyone is caught participating in any act of violence, they will be arrested, no matter who you are.”
Why the sudden change of heart, Adams? The city gave $21,000 in taxpayer money to George Floyd rioters in The Bronx, who engaged in violence and destruction.
