Stop comparing cordless vacuums — it’s time to cut the cordless.
If you’re looking for a robot vacuum that blends a premium design with the near-effortless operation, the Roborock Saros 10R is a strong contender. I have tested a lot of vacuums, so I decided to put this chic cleaning machine to the test in my apartment. I say chic because this vacuum almost reflects like a mirror it’s so shiny. Not to give it away, but this is the best robot vacuum I’ve ever used in my life.
Suppose you’re trying to decide between the Saros 10 versus the Saros 10R. In that case, I’d highly suggest the Saros 10R for navigating tight spaces like a New York apartment, thanks to its 3.14-inch ultra-thin design and VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance.
I ran it through a complicated maze of rugs, wood floors, and tile, and it exceeded expectations in almost every way, though a few small quirks stood out. Let’s dig in!
After extensively testing the dock, I can confidently say this Roborock robot vacuum has one of the most impressive I’ve seen. The dock doesn’t just charge the vacuum; it cleans, dries, refills, and empties everything automatically, making upkeep practically hands-free. The mop water is heated up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit for a deep, sanitized clean and dries at 131 degrees to prevent mold and bacteria from building up on the mop.
The Auto Mop Removal switches between vacuum and mop modes without a hitch and automatically uses Intelligent Dirt Detection to re-wash and re-mop heavily soiled areas.
I really appreciated that it stores clean water, dirty water, and detergent, eliminating the need for constant manual refilling. Plus, it’s always ready to clean when needed, charging in a quick 2.5 hours.
Pros:
Cons:

The clean water container is impressively well-built with a wide handle and large clasp, making it easy to carry and refill. It heats up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit to deep clean your floors to sanitize while scrubbing away grease and tough stains. It cleaned our wood floor so well that I kept slipping around. It’s just never been this clean before — ever, so I’m thoroughly impressed.
It’s embarrassing, but I didn’t realize how dirty the floors were until it finished cleaning. They were smooth and glossy. Its crazy suction power handled most messes, though I found that for larger messes, two passes might be necessary.
The front dust cover snaps on and off without clasps but still fits securely — smart engineering. The cleaning solution container is designed to hold a full bottle, which means no awkward leftover detergent. After set-up, I was able to Roborock.
After cleaning, or rather commanding the cleaning, I was beyond impressed that I didn’t have to clean the mop heads myself. This level of automation takes one more chore off my plate and keeps the mop consistently fresh and ready to go.
Once set up, you can choose between a full home clean, room-specific cleaning, or custom zones. This level of customization is incredibly helpful when you just need to clean a dirty kitchen floor after cooking or quickly take care of some dirt tracked near the entryway without having to run a full cleaning cycle.
I was impressed by how much control it gives over cleaning preferences. I customized the surfaces it cleans through the app, ensuring it adapted to my home’s different flooring types and the FlexiArm Riser Side Brush cleaned corners where other robot vacuums had failed to get in the crevices. I hate to say it, but you get what you pay for because this vacuum can reach edges and corners that other models can’t. I wish I were that flexible.
With its 3.14-inch ultra-thin design, the Saros 10R eliminates the need for a raised camera unit, effortlessly gliding under low furniture chairs, cabinets and even my stove, which hasn’t been cleaned under in a very long time. It’s powered by the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, which uses advanced 3D sensing technology and VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance to detect and adapt to 108 different types of obstacles. This allows it to navigate cords, furniture, and tight spaces with precision, minimizing the need for intervention by me.
Equipped with HyperForce suction, the Saros 10R effectively removes dirt, hair, and debris from hardwood, tile, and carpets. The Zero-Tangling DuoDivide Main Brush and FlexiArm Riser Side Brush prevent hair tangling, while omnidirectional wheels further eliminate the need for manual hair removal. The AdaptiLift Chassis can climb terrain obstacles, automatically lifting its mop when carpets are detected to prevent unwanted wet spots.
I also tested the Find My Pet function, which sends the Saros 10R roaming a room until it locates your pet. My dog turned this into a little game of hide-and-seek, moving away from the robot each time it approached. Eventually, the Saros 10R found her, proving that this feature works, though some pets might be less cooperative and others scared, so approach with caution.
After testing the Roborock Saros 10R, I can confidently say it’s a standout robot vacuum-mop hybrid that delivers premium performance with little effort required on your end. Its smart automation, seamless app integration, and quiet operation make it one of the best choices on the market right now. If you can afford to splurge a little, this Roborock will not let you down.
