Teary-eyed Long Island redhead Lauren Pazienza admitted Wednesday to shoving beloved 87-year-old vocal coach Barbara Maier Gustern to her death on a Manhattan street — but will serve just eight years in prison under the terms of a plea deal.
Pazienza, 27, the scion of a Long Island cesspool empire, had faced up to 25 years in prison on manslaughter and assault raps for pushing Gustern to the ground and calling the elderly woman a “bitch” in an unprovoked attack on West 28th Street in Chelsea on March 10, 2022.
Gustern, a respected vocal coach who worked with Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and others, died from her injuries five days later.
Pazienza was led away in handcuffs after pleading guilty to one count of manslaughter in the first degree in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Gustern’s grandson AJ Maier Gustern said after the hearing that the fiery redhead was “lucky” to cop the deal.
“Lauren, you’re extremely lucky,” the younger Gustern told reporters. “I hope you learn some empathy because apparently you’re incapable of empathy.”
