American comedian and actor Jon Reep—best known for winning NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2007 and famously appearing in Dodge Ram “Hemi” commercials—has been arrested on numerous felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Hickory, North Carolina native was taken into custody on Friday, September 5, 2025.

The arrest followed a cyber tip received on April 15, 2025, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerting authorities to child sexual abuse material linked to a user account associated with Reep.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the IP address in question, seized electronic devices, and conducted forensic analysis on those devices and related online communications.

On September 2, a grand jury in Catawba County issued a “true bill” indictment charging Reep with one felony count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine felony counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The alleged victims are reported to be minors ranging from ages 1 to 14.

Following his arrest, Reep posted a $260,000 secured bond and was released from the Catawba County Detention Facility. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025.

The arrest had an immediate impact on his touring schedule. A performance in Goldsboro scheduled for September 5 was rescheduled, and an upcoming show as part of his “Popsicle Tour” at the Dothan Opera House on September 14 has been canceled, with refunds being issued.

Reep’s comedic résumé spans stand-up specials and TV roles. In addition to his Last Comic Standing win and “Hemi” ads, he had recurring roles—such as Officer Gerald Bob on ABC’s Rodney (2004–06)—as well as appearances on Eastbound & Down, Curb Your Enthusiasm, American Dad!, and more recent gigs like Netflix’s Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo and his Amazon Prime special Ginger Beard Man.

Neighbors and former classmates in Hickory expressed shock at the news. One told WSOC-TV, “It blows my mind that that would be actually something he did.”

It’s not immediately clear whether Reep has entered a plea or obtained legal representation.
