Two Las Vegas teenagers accused of intentionally fatally running down a cyclist were in the midst of a two-hour crime spree when they killed the retired police officer, according to a report.

Accused driver Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16, allegedly stole three vehicles, committed a burglary and also tried to kill another bike rider, KLAS reported, citing both sources and public records.

The pair are facing murder charges in the death of Andreas “Andy” Probst, 64, a former California police chief who was riding his bicycle in a marked lane in northwest Las Vegas last month when Ayala intentionally struck him with a car, authorities contend.

Probst’s Aug. 14 death was initially classified as hit-and-run until police were alerted to a video of the killing.

About a half-hour before Probst’s murder, the pair allegedly attempted to hit another biker and stole two more cars, which they then crashed into each other near a shopping plaza, KLAS reported.

Sources told the station the two young suspects also broke into a garage, stealing several items.
