The hype for Landman Season 2 starts now! The inaugural season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit series set records as the most watched global premiere and finale of any series in Paramount+ history. Heck, even star Billy Bob Thornton earned a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his soon-to-be iconic role as Tommy Norris, a “landman” whose job is to secure mineral rights for M-tex Oil, by any means necessary. It will be hard for fans to wait until November 16 to watch the Season 2 premiere, but luckily, the first teaser for the gritty Texas oil drama just dropped.
The preview begins with the confirmation that M-tex Oil CEO Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) has indeed passed away after failing to receive a heart transplant. Tommy is counseling his well-dressed widow Cami Miller (Demi Moore) before the most important meeting of her life. “You know what you’re saying?” asks Tommy. “I wrote a speech, but I’m not sure that’s what I’m gonna say,” replies Cami unsteadily. “Well, you better figure it out fast because the president of every bank is in that room,” says Tommy firmly.

Cami goes to collect herself in the bathroom before entering a room full of important looking men and women and heading to a podium. “I called this luncheon to squash the rumors and offer you a warning,” says Cami. “The only difference between me and my husband is that I’m meaner.” As Cami sternly stares into the crowd, Tommy looks on proudly. The trailer then cuts to Cami throwing a drink on a man in a bustling restaurant. Looks like she wasn’t lying!
A montage of images go by: Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) practicing a cheerleading routine; Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chávez) deep in a teary conversation; and, Angela (Ali Larter) shooting Tommy a flirty look. Audiences get their first glimpse of acting legend Sam Elliott— who is new to the series—sitting on a porch and talking on the phone. While his role was previously kept under wraps, the trailer reveals his character’s identity: Tommy’s father! “So just another day?” asks the senior Norris. “Just another day, Pop,” replies Tommy warily on the other end of the call.

After a series of images of oil rigs and the tense and dangerous work environment, Tommy makes the relationship between himself and Cami very clear to an unidentified man while standing in a fancy restaurant. “She owns the company, but I run it,” explains Tommy. “Situations like this have to come to a head before it resolves itself.” Then subsequently, action scenes flash across the screen including Tommy’s dad punching someone in the face, strange men approaching a vehicle with their guns drawn, and the fierce lawyer Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) stomping down a hallway.
Going back to the restaurant, the man asks “How do you know?” “Because I’m about to take it there,” responds Tommy coolly before grabbing an empty bottle and smashing another man in a booth in the head. After another montage of enticing footage, the trailer ends with Tommy and Angela sitting in a private plane. “I’m definitely going to have to start drinking again,” says Tommy wryly.
