NextImg:Lakers escape Anthony Davis injury scare vs. Grizzlies: ‘Can’t move my arm’

The Lakers avoided a potential injury disaster on Sunday.

Anthony Davis left Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round NBA playoff series against the Grizzlies on Sunday in the second quarter favoring his right shoulder, going to the locker room before halftime.

However, he returned for the start of the third quarter after suffering a stinger, according to multiple reports.

Davis, 30, collided with Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. on a play and appeared to say, “I can’t feel my arm,” before leaving the floor.

The oft-injured star enters the postseason having had his most durable season since 2019-20, his first with the Lakers, playing 56 of 82 games.

During the regular season, Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 blocks per game in arguably his best with the team.

The Grizzlies led the Lakers 65-59 at halftime, with Davis exiting after recording 10 points, six rebounds, five blocks and two steals in the first two quarters.

The Lakers defeated the Timberwolves in the NBA play-in tournament on Tuesday to earn the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.

Davis had 24 points on 10-for-19 shooting with 15 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in that win.
