Giants and Eagles fans may not agree on much, but they do share a mutual disdain for a certain NFC East franchise.
During an appearance Thursday on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Ciara spoke about how she’s gaining an understanding of the rivalries within husband Russell Wilson’s new NFL division as quarterback of the Giants, with Kylie — the wife of Eagles legend Jason Kelce — noting she “can see eye to eye” with New York supporters “because we can collectively dislike the Cowboys together.”
“That’s big facts,” replied Ciara, 39, who has been married to Wilson, 36, for nearly 10 years. “I mean, I’m learning the territory wherever I am. And obviously that blue and silver and white team is definitely a good history there.”
Wilson, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants in March, will get his first taste of the Cowboys rivalry when Big Blue visits Jerry Jones and Co. in Week 2.
The history between the Cowboys and Giants dates back to their first meeting in 1960, which resulted in a tie at 31-all. Dallas currently holds a 77-47-2 edge for all-time clashes.
Both the Giants and Cowboys are looking to rebound from disappointing 2024 campaigns, in which they finished 3-14 and 7-10, respectively, and missed the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are flying high following their dominant 40-22 triumph in Super Bowl 2025 over the Chiefs, whom they’ll face in a regular-season rematch on Sept. 14.
Although Ciara is well aware of the bad blood between the Giants and Eagles, she respects the fans’ passion.
“Everybody in this region, are diehard, I’ve never seen this thick,” Ciara said. “I think it’s more so the energy of this region. When we were in Seattle, we didn’t have multiples — it was like us and the Niners, that was more defined.”
A Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the Seahawks, Wilson spent the first 10 years of his career in Seattle, where he battled the 49ers for NFC West dominance.
He spent two years in Denver after a 2022 blockbuster trade fell far short of expectations before landing in Pittsburgh for the 2024 season.
Ciara told Kelce the change of scenery has been “amazing.”
“My dad is from New York, so I have a little New York in my blood already,” she said on Thursday’s show. “Being here has been amazing because of the culture, the community — I’ve never seen this many playgrounds in a city. It’s insane, it’s so joyful. Seeing things from my kids’ lens is really fun.”
Ciara and Wilson have been married since 2016 and have three children together: daughters Sienna Princess, 8, and Amora Princess, 1, and 5-year-old son Win Harrison.
The singer is also a mom to son Future Zahir, 11, from a previous relationship.
The Giants open the 2025 season on the road Sept. 7 against a fellow NFC East rival, the Commanders.
