Kristen Bell is blocking out the haters. On this morning’s episode of The View, she lightly scolded the co-hosts for their reactions to Dax Shepard putting her already chewed gum in his mouth the second time they met.

Shepard revealed on the Sept. 5 episode of The View that he and Bell were at a hockey game when he put her gum in his mouth, repulsing host Joy Behar, who called the move “disgusting.” Shepard jokingly explained, “Joy, it’s telling her, ‘I’m not afraid of things that were in your mouth. I hope my lips are there soon.’”

When Bell appeared on this morning’s broadcast, host Sunny Hostin asked her about her husband’s revelation.

“He also said that on your second meeting, he took the gum that you had been chewing and put it in his own mouth,” Hostin began. “Now that move really divided the hosts, the audience as well. So did that gross you out at the time or was it hot?”

Before she answered the question, Bell seemed to shade the co-hosts for having any reaction to the story.

“Let me start with the fact that that’s not meant to create a divide. He didn’t ask you to take his gum, did he?” she asked. “OK, then there really shouldn’t bet be a divide about this. It was an experience we had.”

In fact, the Frozen voice actress thought Shepard was “very cute” for taking her gum.

“It was the indicator after we had been talking and chatting for a while and I was like, ‘Oh, this guy is kinda cute and special,'” she recalled. “And then I guess I was being flirty and took it out of my mouth and he took it. I was like, ‘Woah.’ I said, ‘Understood.’”

Ana Navarro ended the conversation by asking how long she had been chewing the gum and what flavor it was.

“Two, three days and it had no flavor,” Bell quipped.
