Here are some nuggets from Mets spring training on Monday:
Kodai Senga threw 72 pitches in an intrasquad scrimmage at Clover Park, deploying his signature forkball 12-15 times after backing off the pitch recently because of soreness at the base of his right index finger.
The right-hander will be in position to throw 90 pitches in his major league debut against the Marlins on Sunday, according to Buck Showalter.
Adam Ottavino was smoked in the left leg by Brandon Nimmo’s line drive but remained in the game to complete the inning.
Francisco Lindor was given the day off from camp, but is scheduled to rejoin the team in Miami before Wednesday’s workout.
The Mets will break camp and bus about two hours south to Miami. The season opener is Thursday against the Marlins.
