NextImg:Knicks’ Quentin Grimes to be more assertive amid quiet offensive series

Quentin Grimes is ready to let it fly.

After taking just six shots in the first two games of this opening-round series against the Cavaliers, the Knicks’ starting shooting guard plans to be more assertive in Game 3 on Friday at the Garden.

“Everybody wants to get more shots, for sure. We watched film of where I could’ve gotten more opportunities in the first game, where I could’ve slid more into the corner, come off a ball screen,” Grimes said after Thursday’s practice. “Second game, it was a little bit tougher, how they were playing and blitzing everything. [I was] trying to make the right play. But I feel like these next couple of games, I’ll be more aggressive, for sure.”

Grimes is focused on the defensive end, where he is spending most of the time defending Cavaliers All-Star Donovan Mitchell.

But the Knicks need more out of Grimes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett on the offensive end.

The trio averaged 45.8 points during the regular season but managed just 22.5 points in the first two games and shot a cumulative 25 percent from the field.

“I’m not necessarily worried about them at all. It’s part of the game to miss shots. Just gonna have to respond,” Jalen Brunson said. “The way that we hold each other accountable as a team, we know they’ll bounce back and we got their back.”

The entire Knicks team practiced fully on Thursday, according to coach Tom Thibodeau.

That includes Josh Hart, who was a game-time decision on Tuesday with a sprained left ankle. … The Cavaliers listed Cedi Osman, one of their top reserves, as questionable with a sprained left ankle.

He has averaged seven points through two games.

Friday night’s Game 3 has become a pricey ticket, even going up since the Knicks split the first two games in Cleveland, according to TicketIQ.

It said that the average price of a ticket at the Garden on the secondary market is $1,347, which is the most expensive of this year’s playoffs, and ticket sales at MSG for the three games have risen by 30 percent from the time tickets first became available for the series.

The get-in price for Game 3 is $391, TicketIQ reported, and by Thursday afternoon, there were still a pair of courtside seats available with the pair coming in for over $50,000.
