The Knicks promoted Gersson Rosas – who had been a team consultant for the past year – to senior vice president of basketball operations.

Formerly the senior basketball advisor, Rosas will likely assume a decision-making role opened up by the departure of general manager Scott Perry.

The 45-year-old would still rank behind Leon Rose and William Wesley in the Knick hierarchy, but now has a title befitting his considerable resume and role.

The news was first reported by ESPN and confirmed by The Post.

Rosas is repped by Creative Artists Agency and has the same agent as Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau.

Rose had been co-head of CAA’s basketball division before taking over as Knicks president.

Rosas – who’d joined the Knicks in February 2022 amidst some controversy  – served as the point man for several negotiations.

The Bogota, Colombia native had experience working in the front offices of Houston, Dallas and Minnesota.

He was an executive with the Rockets, general manager of the Mavericks – the first-ever Latino GM in NBA history – and finally president of the Timberwolves.

In Minnesota Rosas was involved in both drafting Anthony Edwards in 2020 and hiring coach Chris Finch.

But his tenure there ended when he was fired under accusations of creating a “dysfunctional” environment and having a “consensual intimate relationship” with a team employee.
