Kim Kardashian dished on American Horror Story Season 12 while walking the red carpet Monday evening during the Met Gala. The reality star was recently cast in the star-studded horror anthology, alongside Emma Roberts, Cara Delevingne and more.
“We start shooting my stuff at the end of this month. But production has already started and I’m so excited,” Kardashian told Variety.
“It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I’m so excited for the experience,” she said.
Though we don’t know much about her role just yet, her casting was announced in early April in a teaser video shared to social media. The clip, which was backed by an eerie version of “Rock-a-Bye Baby,” announced Kardashian and Roberts would both be joining the cast of American Horror Story Season 12. This upcoming season will be titled “Delicate.”
The entrepreneur and television star confirmed she will be working with an acting coach and taking lessons as she prepares to begin filming at the end of the month. “I am, of course,” she said. “It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself.”
American Horror Story: Delicate is based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine, which tells the story of an indie actress who begins to believe a greater force is sabotaging her pregnancy, though nobody believes her.
This will not be Kardashian’s first acting role. She is set to do some voice acting in Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie after appearing in the 2021 installment Paw Patrol: The Movie. She also had a brief stint on the sitcom Drop Dead Diva and appeared in the 2008 spoof film, Disaster Movie.
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Ryan Murphy said of the casting decision in April. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
American Horror Story: Delicate is the first season of the horror anthology that will be adapted from source material. It is also the first season to be written and showrun by a single person, Halley Feiffer.
A release date is expected to be announced this summer.
