Kim Kardashian‘s upcoming comedy The Fifth Wheel has found its forever home at Netflix.

According to Deadline, the streamer won a nearly week-long bidding war against other theatrical distributors and streaming services for the new film, which is set to be co-written by Janine Brito and Saturday Night Live alum Paula Pell, the latter of whom is also serving as a producer alongside Kardashian.

While the synopsis for the new film has yet to be revealed, the outlet described the project as “a female-driven comedy,” in which the reality star “will play the eponymous ‘fifth wheel’ alongside a female ensemble cast.” This announcement follows her most recent acting stint in American Horror Story: Delicate, where she portrayed publicist Siobhan Corbyn and starred alongside Emma Roberts.

Another notable acting credit of hers include voicing Delores in PAW Patrol: The Movie (2021) and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023).

According to Variety, the upcoming comedy is one of Netflix’s first major purchases since the SAG-AFTRA strike ended Nov. 9. Other films on the streamers’ docket include A Family Affair starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King; Lonely Planet, a drama starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth; and Good Grief, Dan Levy‘s directorial debut starring Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel, Luke Evans and Levy himself.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, the Skims founder reflected on the backlash she received for earning her AHS role despite not being a “real actress,” and the words of wisdom she received from Salma Hayek.

“I said to her, like, ‘Oh my god. What did I get myself into? I feel bad,’” Kardashian recalled. “And she’s like, ‘Do not feel bad. Maybe this whole road has led you here because you are supposed to be an actress and this is your real career.'”
