Killers of the Flower Moon, the new celebrated film from director Martin Scorsese, will be available to purchase on video-on-demand tomorrow, December 5.
The digital release of Killers of the Flower Moon—about six weeks after the film opened in theaters— came as a surprise via a press blast, announcing that the Apple-Paramount film was coming to “premium video-on-demand and for digital purchase,” on December 5, ahead of the movie’s streaming release on Apple TV+. The announcement did not specify how much the film will cost on platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, and more, and none of those listed retailers have the film available for pre-order at this time. However, “premium” on-demand movies tend to cost upwards of $30 or more to purchase a digital copy of the film, before it is released on DVD, Blu-ray, or streaming.
Starring Lily Gladstone, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon is a period drama that tells the true story of the murders in the Osage Nation in the 1920s. The film, which was recently named Best Film of 2023 by the New York Film Critics Circle, was a joint release between Apple TV Studios and Paramount, with Paramount handling a six-week theatrical release of Killers of the Flower Moon, according to a feature on the film for the British Film Institute. So though this news may feel like a surprise, the digital release of Killers of the Flower Moon is right on schedule. But when will Killers of the Flower Moon be streaming on Apple TV+?
Killers of the Flower Moon will be available to purchase on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Apple TV, Google Play, and more on Tuesday, December 5.
The Killers of the Flower Moon Apple TV+ streaming release date has not yet been announced. Currently, the Apple landing page for the film says it’s “coming at a later date. “However, we have a feeling you’ll see the Martin Scorsese movie streaming on Apple TV+ before the end of the year. Stay tuned!
