It looks like Michael Gelman, the executive producer of Live with Kelly & Mark, might be getting an unwanted houseguest. After revealing on this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show that he uses a fingerprint lock to enter his house, Kelly Ripa warned him that she’s going to sneak in when he’s out of town.
It all started when Ripa and Mark Consuelos discussed the hot new menswear trend: flaunting your keys. According to a Wall Street Journal article, we have Euphoria star Jacob Elordi to thank for it.
Still, Consuelos wasn’t convinced. The Riverdale actor declared keys as “so yesterday,” before revealing that Gelman uses a “fingerprint” to unlock his doors — much to Ripa’s excitement.
“I wish you didn’t tell me that. I’m gonna lift your prints off of something in my dressing room and be in your house constantly,” she said. “I can’t wait for you to go away. I’m gonna be in your house 24/7.”
Gelman — who said he hasn’t been locked out yet — told the longtime co-host that he would let her into his house remotely from his app. However, she quickly shut down that idea.
“I don’t want you knowing I’m there, that defeats the purpose of me sneaking into your house. I don’t need you cleaning up before I get there. I want to see it in the wild. I want to walk in and just find it as it is,” she said, before quipping, “I will need you to leave behind your SoulCycle account number on that bike you have.”
This is just one of many hilarious instances in which Ripa and Consuelos throw it over to their beloved EP. In fact, they even poked fun at Gelman on an episode that aired earlier this week.
While the longtime married couple said they stopped discussing work at home since Consuelos took over for Ryan Seacrest as Live’s permanent co-host back in April, there is one work subject they can’t get enough of.
“When we didn’t work together we would talk about work. Now we don’t really talk about work, we just talk about Gelman … Endless material,” Consuelos joked, to which Ripa replied, “We do. We relive the day and all the wonderful things Gelman brought into our lives.”
Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. You can find local listings on their website.
