NextImg:Kelly Ripa Tells A ‘Live’ Audience Member To “Stop Gaslighting” Her After She Gets Confused Over What Day Of The Week It Is

More On:

Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa was feeling feisty on the morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark — perhaps because she didn’t win Monday night’s (Oct. 2) Powerball jackpot. While chatting with husband and co-host Mark Consuelos, Ripa scolded an audience member for “gaslighting” her about which day the next drawing will take place.

At the start of the episode, the married couple discussed the whopping $1.2 billion lottery. They revealed that one of their co-workers organizes a pool among the Live family — and, per Ripa’s suggestion, they should start incentivizing her to pick the correct numbers.

“She has the pool but we should start docking her salary. Every time we don’t win, you lose!” Ripa said. “You get $5 less every time you don’t pick the winning number. How do we even know she’s picking up the tickets?”

Executive producer Michael Gelman assured Ripa that their co-worker provided proof, before the All My Children alum asked the audience when the next drawing was.

“Wednesday night. So Wednesday night — is it tomorrow? Right. Which is Wednesday. Right,” she echoed as audience members called out answers. “I said Wednesday. And the lady said, ‘No, tomorrow.’ Which is Wednesday. Stop gaslighting me!”

In the meantime, Consuelos concluded that Ripa would pack her bags if she scored the winning numbers.

“If Kelly’s not here on Thursday, it’s because she won on Wednesday,” he said, to which she told him, “You have to stay here … Maybe I’ll drop you a line.”

This is hardly the first time Ripa has jokingly called out audience members on live television, and it likely won’t be the last. During a June episode of Live, she shut down the return of ’90s fashion — and went on to point out those in the audience trying to replicate the trend.

“Let me tell you something about the ’90s fashion: it was terrible in the ’90s. I don’t want to see your flannel shirt. I get it!” she fired off at an audience member, before turning to another and calling out, “Or yours!”

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. You can find local listings on their website.
