NextImg:Kelly Ripa Stunned Woman Went Into Labor With No Pregnancy Symptoms: “If I Got Pregnant That Way, We’d Have 18 Children”

More On:

Kelly Ripa

Imagine the surprise of going into labor after not even knowing that you were pregnant to begin with! On Live with Kelly and Mark today, Kelly Ripa read the news of a Scottish woman heading to the hospital thinking she had appendicitis, but in reality was pregnant, and “gave birth 40 minutes later.”

“So here’s what fascinates me about this,” she mused. “Ok? How — like at a certain point, you have to start wondering, like —”

Mark Consuelos chimed in, “I haven’t had my period in nine months.”

Ripa added, “Or how about this? I have a belly and I feel it kicking around in there.”

The two recalled the sure signs of life during Ripa’s pregnancies, citing”hands moving” and “things happening” in her belly.

“She’s 22 years old? I don’t know why I said that. Like maybe that explains everything,” Ripa quipped, referring to the woman at the center of the news item.

She also read that “doctors noticed swelling” on the woman’s abdomen, and that after having a positive pregnancy test, she “was still clueless” after the results.

“I know that feeling. Believe me, I’ve been there,” Ripa teased. “Where I’m like, ‘What do you mean it’s positive? How could that be?'”

Ripa explained that the woman “asked if they could do anything, but was told she was in labor,” and ended up giving birth to her 7-pound daughter.

“She had no symptoms other than thinking her appendix had burst,” she continued. “If I got pregnant that way, we’d have 18 children.”

Consuelos added, “You wouldn’t have to go through the nine months of, like, worrying and thinking about stuff. You just, you know, the next thing you know, you have a baby. That’d be kind of nice.”

Following laughter from the audience, Ripa said, “Ok… I don’t know. I like to know things. Call me crazy. I like to know things.”
