Dancing with the Stars co-host Julianne Hough has her eye on a potential future contestant.
While sitting down with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Thursday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, Hough highlighted the ABC reality competition show’s upcoming Season 34, which also marks the 20th year that DWTS has been on the air.
“Can I tell you? Every time somebody asks me who they think should be on Dancing with the Stars, for probably 15 years, I’ve said you,” she revealed to Ripa. “You are my number one pick. Seriously!”
After the studio audience applauded Hough’s idea, she quipped, “It’s not like you’re busy. It’s not like you have other things going on.”
Ripa said that “it’s not that,” offering up an explanation for why she would not compete on the show.
“I have like an ego that will, like, I have to win or I will die trying. And I don’t want to be the first death on the dance floor at Dancing with the Stars,” she teased.
Hough replied, “Well, that’s the reason why you have to be on. Because you will win.”

Ripa joked, “Tune in to see if she dies this week.”
Nonetheless, Hough offered up another interesting proposition.
“It would actually be fun to see both of you compete against each other,” she told Ripa and Consuelos.
While Ripa got a kick out of the idea, Consuelos did not seem as enthused.
“Yeah, that wouldn’t be very much of a contest,” he claimed.
Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, which premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 16, is welcoming stars including Hilaria Baldwin, Corey Feldman, Jordan Chiles, and Danielle Fishel to its cast of competitors.
