We all know the tale of Mark Consuelos‘ injured finger — but on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the actor gave a little TMI over how he uses the “pageantry” of his injury to spark some “foreplay” with Kelly Ripa.
On the four-week mark since hurting his finger in a game of beach volleyball, Consuelos — who, according to Ripa, “loves an injury” — is on the mend. Fortunately, he has his wife as his “co-surgeon” to help him through the ordeal — even if he asks for first aid attention at the most inconvenient times.
“When Mark wants to do the pageantry of the finger and the re-wrapping of the finger and the re-band-aiding of the finger, he waits until I’m naked, out of the shower,” Ripa said. “And I’ve got my anti-aging oils that do absolutely nothing. Spoiler alert. And he waits until I’m in mid-lubrication and he goes, ‘Babe, can you give me a hand here?’ And I go, ‘Yeah, just a sec.’”
She continued, “And then I’ve got to stop what I’m doing. Now I’m like naked and afraid. I’m wet, I’m cold, I’m slippery. And I’ve got to administer first aid.”
The conversation then took an NSFW turn as Consuelos joked that he waits until Ripa is out of the shower to ask for help because it’s actually “a cue for something else.” Wink, wink.
“What’s it a cue for?” an oblivious Ripa asked, to which Consuelos cheekily replied, “I’m not sure. You’re not reading the same cues. You’re not picking up what I’m putting down, Jersey Ripa. It’s code! Come fix my finger.”
While the Riverdale alum called his proposition “hot,” Ripa was unconvinced.
“If you think that, ‘Help me bandage my faux injury,’ is foreplay, then we have drifted — we are now on separate islands,” she quipped. “You need to see a nurse — a psychiatric nurse.”
