NextImg:Kelly Ripa Issues A PSA To Busybodies Butting Into ‘RHOBH’ Star Kyle Richards’ Personal Life on ‘Live’: “Grow Up, It’s Not About You!”

More On:

Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa has a PSA for busybodies butting into Kyle Richards‘ personal life.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who split from her husband of 27 years Mauricio Umansky in July, sat down with Ripa and Mark Consuelos on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark

Ripa checked in with Richards, saying, “I would be remiss if I didn’t ask, how are you? Like fundamentally, I know that you and Mauricio are going through a lot and I just have to ask how you are.”

Richards rawly replied, “Well, not exactly living my best life. It’s been rough, you know, I’m not gonna lie.”

After noting that they were married around the same amount of time as Ripa and Consuelos, Richards described their current situation as “uncharted territory” for her.

“It’s been difficult,” she continued. “Fortunately, it is amicable, but it’s hard. My main concern is our daughters, who have been amazing — my four best friends. It’s just… it is hard.”

Ripa asserted that it must be even more tough for the Bravo bombshell, who is “part of the public conversation,” and highlighted how people feel they “have some sort of say or authority or opinion” in what goes on in her marriage “that they don’t see off-camera,” which Richards affirmed.

“Well, it is weird, because they feel like they want to know all the answers, and I understand that,” she shared. “And they also want to create their own story because we haven’t explained everything, which is impossible to do.”

She then opened up about receiving emotionally charged and invasive messages from fans, conveying sentiments such as “all our hopes and dreams are crushed,” “true love doesn’t exist,” and “you destroyed my dreams.”

“And I’m thinking, ‘I’m just trying to stay afloat and make sure our daughters are OK,’ and I’m worrying about strangers,” she confessed.

Ripa then stepped in to call out the online trolls.

“Here, let me say this on your behalf,” she began. “Grow up! Ok? It’s not about you! I’ll say it for you!”

As the audience erupted into applause, Richards thanked Ripa.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Kelly!
