Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had a lot to unpack with Stanley Tucci on Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark.

After Ripa deemed the Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy star a “world traveler,” Consuelos asked Tucci for his “packing strategy” ahead of his excursions.

“I overpack,” Tucci confessed. “My wife always looks at the way I pack, too, which isn’t always very neat.”

Surprised by Tucci’s admission, Consuelos asked if he uses packing cubes.

Tucci confirmed that he “use[s] the cubes,” though he said that he will “just throw stuff in,” becoming “very impatient.”

“Yes, but my wife is a very neat packer,” he continued. “Then when I have to leave, or when I’m coming back, then that’s sad. It’s just a bunch of dirty clothes.”

Consuelos, who just returned with Ripa from a trip to Italy, empathized with Tucci, noting that “it’s the shoes that are hard to find space for.”

Tucci agreed, “Well yes, and I’m obsessed with clothing, so I bring a lot of different kinds of shoes. So my suitcases are very heavy.”

Ripa teased, “Mark always finds room for his shoes in my suitcase.”

Though Tucci quipped that Ripa should not let Consuelos do that, Consuelos attempted to explain himself, telling Tucci that he “take[s] the carryon” while Ripa will “have a big suitcase to check.”

“And there’s always room left over. I know this ahead of time,” he added. “So I throw in a couple of extra sneakers, a shaving kit.”

However, Ripa exposed Consuelos further.

“There’s a reason I also don’t take a carryon bag, because one of us has to check a bag and Mark is too prideful to check a bag,” she shared. “And so therefore, he’s the put-upon husband with the wife who has so many things. I announce loudly, ‘Half of this stuff is his.'”

Consuelos echoed, “You say, ‘This crap is his.'”
