They may have co-starred on the same soap opera, and are now co-hosts of the same morning show, but Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have apparently earned themselves drastically different levels of treatment at the DMV.
On Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, Consuelos shared that he stopped by the DMV yesterday. Just seconds into his story, Ripa said his enthusiasm about the experience was”so irritating.”
“Because you bounced through the door and he goes, ‘The DMV is great!'” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘What?!'”
Consuelos explained that he went to secure his Real ID, and raved about his service from a particular employee named Candace, whom he even took a selfie with to show the Live audience.
“Look at Candace! She’s sassy!” he exclaimed.
Consuelos then noted that “all the ladies” of the DMV “are huge fans of All My Children.” However, this couldn’t be more different than the previous experiences that fellow All My Children alum Ripa — and likely many others — have had at the DMV.

“You know, I too worked on All My Children and I have never met Candace or anybody like Candace at the DMV!” she argued. “It’s usually like a ghost with a staff and he’s like, ‘RI-PA! RI-PA!'”
Nonetheless, Consuelos continued to gush about the lovely service, claiming that after taking a seat, “there was a disturbance” among the ladies working there, as they “started going back and forth.”
“I had an appointment and it was in 15 minutes, and they said, ‘Get up here right now!'” he added.
However, he noted that they called him by his soap opera persona Mateo, despite him providing his IDs that said otherwise. He even quipped that he’s “surprised” that his new ID didn’t say Mateo on it.
Consuelos closed out his rare, glowing review of the DMV when he issued a special shoutout to Candace and the rest of the staff, noting that he’s “official now” after obtaining his new ID.
“Well, good for you,” Ripa, who donned an “I <3 Mark” t-shirt in honor of Valentines’s Day, admitted to her husband. “I’m glad that you had such a pleasant time at the DMV.”
