This morning’s installment of Live with Kelly and Mark marked the first of four episodes shot in Las Vegas, and Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos appear to be soaking up all that Sin City has to offer.
Filming from the BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Consuelos teased, “We should announce we’re essentially doing a residency here.”
Ripa said the same, telling Live EP Michael Gelman, “Gelman, I didn’t know how to break it to you.”
The two co-hosts eventually told the Live audience about what they’ve been up to since arriving in Vegas.
“We have been doing this city,” Ripa exclaimed, as Consuelos claimed that they “hit the ground running.”
They gushed about having dinner at Ito, an omakase restaurant located in the Fontainebleau.
“The chef stands and makes you eat each piece,” Ripa said.
Consuelos added, “And what I loved about it is midway through, he saw I was struggling with my chopsticks. He goes, ‘Just grab it with your hands and throw it in your mouth.'”
He then shared that “you can see Sphere from everywhere,” referring to the “fully immersive concert venue” iconically shaped like a sphere.
Ripa then recalled that they “rushed out of Ito to go see U2” perform there, and that they went backstage and met the band’s bass guitarist, Adam Clayton.

Consuelos joked that they “were essentially with the band,” and Ripa said that they “got necklaces that said ‘All Access,’ that kept [them] exactly where [they] were.”
“‘All Access’ meaning stay right here and don’t move,” she joked.
Later on, Ripa, a longtime Live co-host, explained that they’ve taken Live to Las Vegas “five times,” but that she’s only been present for four trips.
“The first time you came without me. I wasn’t born yet,” she joked, as Gelman chimed in from off-camera, “Regis and Kathie Lee,” referring to Ripa’s predecessor, Kathie Lee Gifford.
Ripa continued, “But we’ve been back many times, but this is our first time, I think, without kids. So we’ve been doing everything! I’m sure it’s fun with kids, too. But I gotta tell you — “
Consuelos interjected, “It’s more fun without them.”
Ripa reiterated, “It’s a lot of fun without kids.”
