NextImg:Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Make Hilarious Attempt at Partner Yoga on ‘Live’: “What Happens When You Hear Ripping and Tearing?”

More On:

Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos spent their first Hump Day as Live co-hosts doing an interesting partner yoga routine. During Wednesday morning’s (April 19) episode, the married couple of 27 years hilariously put their flexibility to the test as they followed along with yoga pros.

Ripa teased the segment by telling a hesitant Consuelos, “I’m bendy but I think I could be bendier, you know what I mean?” to which he responded, “Yeah,” as he smirked at the audience.

His wife went on to joke, “I’m flexy but I’m not as flexible as I should be.”

As part of their “It Takes Two Week,” the couple then welcomed Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee — founders of Yoga Shanti — to guide them through a set of poses.

“Practicing as a team is so fun. It’s pretty intimate. You feel amazing afterward. It’s great pre-gaming for date night,” Saidman said of the benefits of partner yoga, before Ripa chimed in, “So you get limber.”

The longtime Live host couldn’t help but laugh when her first instruction was to “spread your legs wide,” which was shortly followed by Consuelos admitting, “I’m so tight, oh my gosh.”

While moving into another position, Ripa jokingly asked, “What happens when you hear ripping and tearing?”

But don’t let the duo’s comical remarks fool you! They were practically flawless in their attempts at the practice, despite one viewer labeling it as “cringe.”

The playful segment comes only a few days into the Riverdale star’s permanent gig on the show following six-year co-host Ryan Seacrest‘s departure last week, which he first announced in February.

While Ripa has been a co-host on Live since 2001, her husband — who she met on the set of All My Children — has joined her at the desk a total of 92 times as a guest host.

“It feels like coming home. It’s long been my favorite show on television, so to be working here now and see my name on the show is really surreal,” Consuelos told People, while Ripa added that working with her husband is the “best-case scenario for me.”

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays at 9/8c on ABC.
