More On:

Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had a spooky weekend out at their Long Island home when their “benevolent ghost” made its presence known to their skeptic son.

During this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the married couple detailed their weekend at their vacation home, where the night ended in telling ghost stories with their three children.

“Now we have a benevolent ghost out at our house in Long Island,” Consuelos said. “It lives there. It’s a rascal. It doesn’t do anything bad.”

According to the co-hosts, the strange occurrences range from things going missing for hours only to reappear where they were originally supposed to be, to the fire alarm activating at 2 a.m. — with both the fire department and the alarm company unable to shut it off.

“So Joaquin is sitting there — this big, tough guy — just had a Grasshopper drink,” Consuelos said of his 20-year-old son. “He’s like, ‘I don’t believe in any of that stuff.'”

He continued, “So the next morning he gets up and he’s like, ‘Alright, so who moved the figurines on my desk?’… They were facing out towards the room then when he went downstairs they were all facing the wall.”

Naturally, the adult children all blamed Consuelos — who referred to himself as the “scapegoat” of the family — though he vehemently denied any wrongdoing. In fact, the Riverdale star thought it was such a great trick that he “wished” he would’ve done it.

But that wasn’t the only eerie thing that Joaquin experienced last weekend!

Later that night, after he recruited his older brother Michael to sleep with him in the bunk room — which Ripa said had “toddler beds” — he claimed to have felt a cold chill at 2 a.m. and then something at the foot of his bed.

Despite Ripa believing he dreamt the ghost on his bed and attributing the “cold breeze” to the air conditioning kicking on, she did agree that something strange is living in their home.

“I do concur that weird things happen in that house. Not demonic, just weird,” she said, while Consuelos revealed that he told his son, “You tempted the ghost by saying you don’t believe in ghosts.”

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays at 9/8c on ABC.
