Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos played a sort of name game on this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark, after the former mentioned that “people named David are most likely to complain online.”
After the two asked if Live producer David Mullen was there to hear the news, Ripa quipped, “No, he’s filing a complaint somewhere.”
“Any Davids in the audience?” she asked while scoping out the crowd. “David’s? David’s? Not now!”
They eventually found an audience member named David, whom they greeted from their hosting desk.
“You don’t look like you would complain online,” Ripa teased. “Have you ever complained online?”
David replied, “No, never.”
Ripa proceeded to ask David if he “would like to complain online today,” to which he said a simple, “No.”
Consuelos then asked Ripa to clarify what she meant by “complain online.”
Ripa then explained that Davids have been responsible for “more than 20,000 1-star reviews,” which was “more than anyone else.” She also highlighted that “big complainers also tend to be named Paul and John.”

“So David, Paul, and John. Very biblical names,” Ripa pointed out, to which Consuelos joked, “Like the Beatles!”
Ripa also noted that “men dominated the top 15 moaner sites.”
“With names like Mark also making the cut,” she added. “Michael, Steve, Andrew, Mark — and Andrew’s your middle name!”
Consuelos chimed in, “I can say with full confidence that I’ve never left a bad review.”
Ripa claimed that neither has she, asking, “Who has time for that?”
Consuelos offered his words of wisdom for those who resort to Yelp or Trip Advisor to air their grievances following “a bad time at a hotel or a restaurant.”
“And my advice to them is, why don’t you just move on?” he continued. “Why are you holding onto this?”
Ripa agreed, noting that “one person’s yuck is another person’s yum.”
Eventually, she pointed out that “women named Sarah” snuck their way onto the list, which prompted Consuelos to note, “Not Karen!”
“And by the way, I feel bad!” he added. “If you’re named Karen, I feel really, really bad.”
Ripa felt the same way, saying that she has “friends named Karen who are great.”
“And yet I still feel bad putting their name in text!” she said.
