NextImg:Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos’ Daughter Makes Appearance On ‘Live’ After They Promised They Wouldn’t Put Her On Camera

More On:

Kelly Ripa

Most kids would jump at the opportunity to be seen on national television — but not Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa‘s daughter. On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the married couple broke their promise to their daughter, Lola, and put her on camera.

It all started when Consuelos recalled how he got away with burning his neighbor’s lawn as a kid. According to him, he and a friend took his old cardboard history project and burned it in the lawn to warm up during a game of basketball.

However, the fire ended up spreading throughout the dead grass before they were finally able to put it out. And it wasn’t until a week later when Consuelos was playing a game of catch with his dad that he almost got caught.

“I throw one deep. The ball goes into the yard,” he recalled. “And my dad said, ‘Mark?’ I said, ‘What’s going on?’ He’s like, ‘Come over here [and] look at this. This lawn is burned. Do you know what happened?’ I said, ‘I do not know what happened. That’s crazy. Somebody must’ve thrown a cigarette.'”

After Ripa pointed out that her father-in-law “definitely knew” Consuelos was lying, she asked her husband what he would’ve done if one of their three children did the same thing. According to her, he wouldn’t have immediately taken their word for it if they denied burning the lawn.

“I know the answer to the questions before I ask them. But I would’ve played it out. I would’ve reeled them in,” he said, before Ripa looked to the audience and asked, “Are you learning? Are you learning this? Are you listening? She doesn’t want to be seen on camera — but I’m just looking at her right now.”

The camera then panned to reveal the co-hosts’ 22-year-old daughter Lola, who appeared as though she would’ve rather have been anywhere else at that moment.

“Lola, could you get stuff over on me or was I a very good interrogator?” Consuelos asked, to which she replied, “I could.”

Lola added that it was “nothing” she was willing to discuss, before laughing nervously and rolling her eyes at her parents.

“She literally said to me, ‘If I sit in the audience, you’re not gonna put me on camera, right?’ I swear, I promise I won’t, Lola,” Ripa joked. “That’s not our daughter Lola. That’s a different Lola. That’s a friend of hers also named Lola.”
