Regular Live with Kelly and Mark viewers are well aware that the show’s producers are never safe from being pulled into Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos‘ back-and-forth banter, and this morning’s episode was certainly no exception.
Prior to introducing the episode’s guests, the co-host couple made the audience aware of their “new Kelly and Mark coasters,” which are branded with the daytime talk show’s logo.
“What are these, coasters?” Ripa asked, as she picked hers up off their hosting desk.
“For your coffee mugs!” Consuelos affirmed.
Ripa then turned offstage toward Live executive producers Michael Gelman and Art Moore and asked, “Is this part of the giveaway when they win a mug? Do they get a coaster?”
However, the two EPs seemingly didn’t have great news, per Consuelos’ reaction.
“No?” a surprised Consuelos asked, prompting Moore to chime in, saying that “they are available,” but at a price.
Ripa asked if “they’re available for purchase.” Meanwhile, Consuelos seemed impressed by the new memorabilia.
“These are great,” Consuelos said. “I like ’em.” However, Ripa still had some follow-ups for Gelman and Moore.
“Let me ask you a question,” Ripa began. “Where do you rip people off for this?”
Moore replied that prospective buyers “can find them on the website,” and said “information,” which Ripa then mistook for “in French.”
“I was like, ‘Oh, we’re selling them in French?'” Ripa joked. “Ooh la la! I’ll take deux!”
The jokes didn’t stop there, though. As their daily round of “Stump Mark” began — a game in which a lucky contestant phones in with a truth and a lie about themselves to try and trick Consuelos — the two co-hosts reminded viewers of what the contestant is eligible to win: a Live mug and an “I Stumped Mark” t-shirt, with Consuelos’ face printed on the front and Ripa popping out of a Live mug on the back.
“But not this!” the two quipped, holding up a coaster.
