Paul W. Downs learned a fun fact about the Hacks Season 4 set from none other than Kelly Clarkson.
Downs made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, where he and Clarkson dished on an unlikely link between the HBO comedy and her daytime talk show — and surprisingly, Steve Harvey.
“You’re shooting where our show used to be on the lot,” she reminded Downs, who explained that in Season 4, Jean Smart‘s Deborah Vance “has her own late night show” that is being shot on The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s “old stage.”
“Deborah’s office is your old office,” he added.
Downs and Clarkson agreed that the connection between their two shows was “cool,” as the latter teased that she was “fanning out” about it. This teed her up for the perfect opportunity to ask the actor if Smart is “enjoying the heated toilet seat from Steve.”
Downs confessed, “I have to tell you what. Not only is she. I did too.”
Clarkson joked, “When I walked in that office the first time, I sat down and I was like, ‘I don’t know how long I’m going to be here. This is very comfortable. Thank you Steve Harvey.'”

She immediately provided context for name-dropping the Family Feud host, explaining that she learned he was responsible for the heated toilet seat after asking “who installed” it.
Downs asked, “Oh, it was Steve Harvey?”
Clarkson replied, “Apparently before me, yeah. So thank you, Steve, for the warm bum.”
