There is no bad blood between Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift. After the “Breakaway” singer compared the NFL‘s excessive coverage of Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship to a Bravo show, she promised she didn’t “bash” their budding romance.

The miscommunication stemmed from Friday’s (Oct. 20) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, when the host sat down with Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang. At one point in the interview, they chatted about Swift and Kelce’s surprise appearance during the Oct. 14 episode of SNL, which Clarkson thought was “hilarious.”

“It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now. It’s like you’re watching Housewives while you’re watching,” Clarkson added. “They’re just talking about gossip things and you’re like, ‘So, what about the play?’ But they’re taking over.”

After the singer’s comments were spun to make it sound as though she wasn’t a fan of Swift and Kelce’s relationship — rather than the NFL’s never-ending commentary — she took to social media to clear the air.

“Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday. “Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone’s romance. I am pro romance. Yay romance.”

Clarkson continued, “Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!”

The “Because of You” songstress isn’t the only one who thinks the NFL is “overdoing” it. During a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, even Kelce agreed that things have gotten out of hand since Swift began attending his Kansas City Chiefs games.

“I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce. “But at the same time, I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation.”

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs on weekdays. Check the website for local listings.
