Andy Cohen might spend each New Year’s Eve getting hammered on live television, but his dancing is what truly embarrasses him. Unfortunately for the Bravo boss, Kelly Clarkson busted out an old video of his go-go dancing days, which had him slouched back in his seat á la Tom Schwartz any time he appears on Watch What Happens Live.
On today’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the “Breakaway” singer asked Cohen about his past gig as a go-go dancer for the B-52’s.
“You have very good producers,” Cohen said, before explaining, “I did go-go dance for the B-52’s twice just as a lark for fun. I love the B-52’s.”
Clarkson told him not to “fight” his “true passion,” to which he replied, “No, I know. Listen, it’s true. And now the idea of dancing in public absolutely terrifies me.”
Cohen added that while he loves to dance, he doesn’t like to dance in front of cameras.
“Who cares? That’s what I say,” Clarkson said. “I embarrass my family in Lowes. We’ll be like walking around and I’ll just be like body-rolling. Any chance I can embarrass someone.”
The American Idol winner proceeded to play a video of Cohen breaking it down onstage with the B-52’s, while he shamefully sank back in his seat as the audience watched on.
“Just turning everyone on,” Clarkson commented, before Cohen joked, “White man dances.”
The talk show host, however, was more intrigued by the sparkly purple pants her guest was wearing in the video, prompting a playful conversation about his “tiny hiney.”
“Can you talk about the pants, though? The pants are pretty spectacular. White boy with a booty. It was nice,” Clarkson said, to which Cohen responded, “It was a tiny little hiney.”
The “Since U Been Gone” singer then countered, “Not a tiny hiney! That was nice. It sparkled. It shined. It had a moment.”
As the audience cheered for Cohen, he concluded, “They’re clapping for my butt.”
