Crisp September air and not a drop of rain in sight — in England, no less? That calls for breaking out the suede.
Clearly, Kate Middleton and Melania Trump were on the same wavelength Thursday as they met with the pint-sized members of the Scouts Squirrels program wearing coordinating suede jackets in autumnal hues.
The Princess of Wales, 43, paired her olive green Me + Em cropped military jacket with Ralph Lauren’s ankle-length Evilyn Birdseye Tweed Skirt ($2,025) and Croc Effect Leather Belt, along with a green silk scarf from local textile mill Sudbury Silk Mills.
Gianvito Rossi tall brown suede boots elevated the look beyond typical English countryside fare, while her Spells of Love Teardrop Charm Earrings ($125) added subtle sparkle.
The First Lady, 55, meanwhile, wore a caramel-colored safari-style suede jacket — also by Ralph Lauren — along with Loro Piana cropped pants and Roger Vivier flats.
The suede moment marked yet another headline-making fashion turn in what’s already been a packed style week for the two women.

On Wednesday evening, they showed off their best formal attire at a glittering state banquet: Trump in a bold, shoulder-baring yellow gown by Carolina Herrera, and Middleton in a Phillipa Lepley lace creation fit for a fairytale.
Earlier that day, the First Lady made a dramatic statement on her Windsor walk with the Prince and Princess in an ultra-wide-brimmed Dior couture disc hat.
Today’s coordinated suede suggested a deliberate nod to the bucolic surroundings at Frogmore Cottage — a softer, more grounded complement to the opulence of banquet gowns and couture millinery.
