Greetings, comrade worker: Candidate for Party General Secretary Kamala Harris has promised to punish the hoarders and wreckers driving up grocery prices.
All hail the might of Soviet labor!
That’s the latest bonkers proposal from Komrade Kamala Harris, unveiled in her marquee speech on the economy Friday — socialist price controls on groceries.
Because the sky-high grocery prices average Americans have seen since she’s been in office couldn’t be the result of her boss’s disastrous economic policies.
No, they must be caused by price-gouging corporate overlords who for some reason want customers to buy less of their products.
The data prove Harris and her team are (as usual) lying.
Producer prices have moved up in lockstep with consumer prices, meaning that people selling goods and services charge customers more because they themselves are paying more for goods and services.
That’s the vicious circle of inflation.
That Harris’ mendacious “first 100 days” idea is being greeted with anything less than universal hoots of derision is obscene.
Indeed, it’s so absurd that even The New York Times, the chief interference-runner for the Biden administration, has admitted the situation may be more “complicated” than Harris claims.

“Complicated,” remember, is libspeak for “a Democrat got something fundamentally wrong.”
But the reason prices are high is not, in fact, complicated.
They’re high because, as the US economy was rapidly heating up post-COVID, Joe dumped trillions in stimulus into it to shower moolah on favored cronies and constituencies.
The Inflation Reduction Act, the American Rescue Plan, the student loan giveaways.
Spend, spend, spend.
Now, groceries cost about 26% more than what they did before Biden-Harris took office.
Gas prices are through the roof.
And on and on and on.
Price controls won’t do anything except cause more economic misery — and Harris’ GOP rival Donald Trump is dead right to call it a “Maduro plan” (after Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro).
As will Harris’ equally moronic idea to give up to $25,000 in “down-payment support” to first-time homebuyers — because that’s in effect nothing more than a $25,000 gift to current homeowners looking to sell, and will in turn fuel yet more housing inflation.
In other words, Harris’ cure for our economic misery is more government spending.
That’s more of what caused it, plus the new nightmare of price controls.
It’s Bernie Sanders’ party now, it seems, and we’re all going to have to pay the piper.
Kamala, in short, promises to hurt average Americans even more than her boss Joe did.
Voters, watch out.
