The power suit strikes again.
Julia Roberts brought back a classic on Wednesday, stepping out for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” wearing a charcoal gray power suit that channeled the Giorgio Armani one she wore to the 1990 Golden Globes.
The 57-year-old actress looked every bit as polished as she did back then, sporting a double-breasted blazer with wide-leg trousers and a tie adorned with an eclectic collection of brooches.
Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, Roberts accessorized the menswear-inspired ensemble with black-framed glasses and gold hoop earrings, swapping her voluminous ’90s curls for a sleek updo and side-swept bangs.
The look was a clear nod to her breakout era, when a then-22-year-old Roberts attended the Globes as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Steel Magnolias” — and ended up taking home the trophy.
That night, she wore a similarly sharp gray suit purchased from the late designer’s Rodeo Drive store, an ensemble she called “one of my all-time favorite outfits” in a 2024 “Life in Looks” video for Vogue.
“I did my hair, my girlfriend did my makeup… I don’t even know that people wore really fancy gowns to the Golden Globes then the way they do now, but I thought that I was very extra in this outfit,” Roberts recalled in the video.
“I could not have known that it was going to become this, like, statement outfit. I just thought I looked fabulous, and I still have that suit.”
The power suit moment comes just days after Roberts attended the North American premiere of “After the Hunt” last week, wearing another tailored look — this time a Vivienne Westwood suit, also styled with a necktie embellished with vintage brooches from Raven Fine Jewelers.

On the red carpet, co-stars Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri raved about Roberts’s baking skills, telling a Page Six reporter about the top-notch banana bread she brought to set.
“I would say, I don’t know, [it’s in] the first percentile,” Edebiri, 29, gushed. Garfield, 42, one-upped her, saying it was more like the “.5 percentile.”
The film, directed by Luca Guadagnino, marks the latest project for the Oscar winner, whose head-turning tailoring and style continue to stand the test of time.
