Julia Fox is officially the latest celebrity to fall victim to Drew Barrymore‘s playful antics. On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk show host left her guest confused after she abandoned her on the stage mid-conversation.
Before the awkward moment happened, the two women engaged in a deep conversation about Fox’s life, which is documented in her new book, Down the Drain. As the free-spirited Uncut Gems star replicated her iconic smoky eyeshadow on Barrymore’s face, she explained how she became such a confident person.
“Everything that I was ever scared of happening, happened,” she said. “I’ve literally hit rock bottom so many times — lost everything. I’m talking money, friends have died, family things, homelessness. Life’s still gonna happen, so might as well just go for it and do what you want to do.”
Quickly pivoting the conversation, Barrymore jumped in to ask if Fox has ever thought about doing a fashion show.
“I’m doing one! Yes! I can’t say the network but it’s called OMG Fashion with Scout Productions,” she revealed, as Barrymore cut her off and frantically ran off the stage, leaving Fox confused. “Oh wait, where’s she going? Is this normal? Does she always do this?”
With the actress unsure of what to do next, she cheekily turned to the audience and said, “So, anyway. Welcome to my segment. I’m taking over for her.”
Once the commercial break ended, Barrymore returned to the stage dressed in her rendition of one of Fox’s many iconic outfits, leaving the fashion icon shocked.
“Oh wow!” Fox exclaimed. “You look amazing.”

As if nothing happened, the duo almost immediately jumped back into their serious conversation as Fox opened up about how she deals with negative comments on social media.
“I actually leave the troll comments up because I feel like it’s so embarrassing for them that they need to live with their mistakes,” she said. “I don’t delete them. I’m like, ‘Oh, no. You’re gonna have this on your record permanently. You’re that person? Ew.’”
She continued, “If anything, I just feel bad for them. And also I’m not gonna clean up your mess. If you’re projecting and having a meltdown at your computer over someone you don’t even know, it’s like, that’s on you. You need a therapist.”
