The co-hosts of The View sure could use a little summer vacation. A chaotic segment on today’s show highlighting some of their favorite warm weather products began normally enough, but was eventually derailed by a one-way water balloon fight. There’s a reason it’s the No. 1 daytime TV talk show, after all.

Joy Behar set the tone after introducing her summer must-haves. After walking the audience through her under-$50 picks, she tossed the cue card she had been reading from over her shoulder as the audience cheered and clapped.

When Behar forgot to introduce Sara Haines, who was up next, Haines interjected, “What she means to say is, ‘Now it’s your turn, Sara!'”

Behar complied, but she couldn’t resist a little snark, too: “And now I throw the baton over to Ms. Sara Haines, who tried her dress on backwards this morning,” she quipped, referring to Haines’ zipper-front dress.

“It happens, it’s an occupational hazard,” Haines replied, taking the dig in stride before moving onto her own pile of products, which included reusable water balloons made of rubber.

“All you have to do is fill them and seal them,” Haines explained, before picking one up to test it out for herself. Plunging her hand into a bowl of pre-filled balloons, Haines said, “They’re really awesome,” while Whoopi Goldberg immediately foresaw what was about to go down.

Furrowing her brow and raising a finger at Haines, Goldberg warned her, “Don’t even think about it,” but Haines had a different target in mind.

Turning to face producer Brian Teta, who was standing offstage overseeing the action with a coffee in hand, Haines took aim, first missing the poor View EP before taking a few more tries and finally striking him with one of the balloons.

Haines threw her arms up in victory and yelled, “Ooooh!” after making her mark, while the audience clapped and cheered for her. Thankfully, Teta took it like a champ, gamely nodding his head and smiling as the balloon splashed him right in the chest.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
