Joy Behar has one word in response to Kim Kardashian‘s new nipple bra: pasties.
On this morning’s episode of The View, the Kardashians star received mixed reviews for her new line of Skims bras that have a built-in nipples. While Whoopi Goldberg praised the “extraordinary” innovation, Joy Behar — a frequent critic of the famous family — was a tad more skeptical.
“For years, we’ve been using these,” Behar said as she whipped out a pair of pasties. “These are things you put on to cover the nips … This is for everybody. She thinks it’s a fashion thing now to show your nipples. When they come up with something about drooping boobies, then we’ll talk.”
However, Goldberg argued that pasties aren’t for everyone.
“If you are someone whose breasts have been reduced or removed or you’re not comfortable with yourself or your nipples have changed, these don’t really help,” she said. “Because what they do is they flatten you and they make you look like you don’t have any nipples. I’m wearing them right now.”
When Sunny Hostin pointed out that erect nipples are often frowned upon because they appear to “sell sex,” Behar decided to crank things up a notch by covering her eyes with the pasties and chiming in, “See no evil, hear no evil, wear no nips.”
The comedian’s commentary only got more bizarre when she jokingly declared her next career move: a merkin business. While Goldberg said she would be the only one who knows if she’s wearing the faux pubic hair, Behar fired back that her husband would also be well aware.
“If he gets in there,” Goldberg shaded. “I don’t know why we’re having this conversation. But this is Tuesday — no it’s not, it’s Wednesday. That’s why. Because none of us know what day it is.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
