The View is weighing on on “Scandoval,” but as Whoopi Goldberg claims, it’s only because they have no other choice. Goldberg explained on today’s episode that she and her co-hosts were reluctantly chatting about Vanderpump Rules because they don’t have writers to help with their segments due to the ongoing WGA strike.
“Another reminder, we don’t have any writers,” she began. “Which is why we’re kind of forced to talk about Vanderpump Rules, which I’m going to just throw over to Alyssa because I don’t care.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin then launched into a brief explainer of the VPR drama, which boils down to: Tom Sandoval cheated on his longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix with her close friend, Raquel Leviss. Chaos has since ensued.
While Goldberg could not have been less interested in the conversation, her co-hosts delved right in, even with their varying degrees of Scandoval knowledge.
After Joy Behar asked the important questions — like, “Who’s Tom Sandoval?” — she and the rest of the Hot Topics table got busy bashing the VPR star. Even Goldberg couldn’t resist, exclaiming, “What a bonehead,” after Griffin laid out all of his misdeeds with Leviss.
“You know, this is the type of thing that is the best for everybody. Because you get past it. I understand this chick has a lot of opportunities,” Behar said, referring to Madix.
Sandoval, meanwhile, has a bleaker future if you ask Behar, who wondered, “And where is he going? I don’t see any talent.”
Brutal!
Sunny Hostin piled on too, suggesting Madix should “make it so uncomfortable” for Sandoval to remain in their shared home “that he never wants to be there.”
“I might go full-on War of the Roses on him,” she said, referring to the 1989 divorce comedy. “I would be a beast.”
Well, lesson learned: don’t cross The View.
