ABC has been asking Joy Behar to come back to The View for nearly three decades (with the exception of her temporary firing in 2013). But it sounds like the network’s parent company, Disney, didn’t want her to reprise her voice role in the highly anticipated Ice Age 6.

Actor John Leguizamo, who voices Sid in the long-running animated franchise, appeared on this morning’s episode of The View, where he teased the sixth installment of Ice Age.

“It’s so funny. We already started recording. We’re halfway done. It’s gonna be even more hilarious than the last one. We’re all back. And Joy’s gotta come back,” he said, referring to Behar’s role as Sid’s mom in the fourth movie, Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012).

“They didn’t ask me,” Behar shot back, to which Leguizamo replied, “You’re too busy.”

With a sassy eye roll, Behar asked, “Oh, is that it?”

While the comedian won’t be returning for the movie, she told Leguizamo that it was “fun” playing his mother — “even though [they] were sloths.”

Disney and 20th Century Animation announced in November 2024 that Ice Age 6 was in the works, with lead cast Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg all returning to the beloved franchise. Variety reported that the film won’t hit theaters until late 2026, replacing an unnamed Star Wars film in its lineup.

The movie will come 10 years after the most recent Ice Age film — Ice Age: Collision Course —was released in 2016. According to Variety, the animation raked in $408.5 million at the global box office.

While Leguizamo promised an even funnier Ice Age 6, he did admit there will be one change to his iconic character.

“My voice is changing. Twenty-three years ago, my voice was high-pitched,” he said, joking that Sid’s voice might sound a little deeper this time around.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
