Today marks a historic episode of The View as President Joe Biden will become the first sitting president to ever appear on the long-running daytime talk show for a live interview. But, before they kicked things off with Biden, co-host Joy Behar couldn’t help but make a naughty joke about the increased security presence in their building.

Behar joined Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics table, where Goldberg started the broadcast with her daily introduction.

“Welcome to The View, y’all,” she said, before acknowledging the heightened security.

“In case you’re wondering why half the NYPD and Secret Service is with us this morning, President Joe Biden is live on The View today. And security is tight,” Goldberg explained to the audience, before turning to her co-hosts and asking, “How was it getting in for y’all today?”

After a few moans and groans from some of the women, Behar joked that the “pat-down was delightful,” all while flirtatiously fluffing her iconic red hair.

“I haven’t had that much action since the Eisenhower administration,” she quipped, to which Goldberg replied, “I thought you were gonna say since the Lincoln administration.”

Behar fired back that she’s “a little younger than that, but not that much.”

While Biden has appeared on The View numerous times throughout the years, this will mark his first visit since becoming President of the United States in January 2021. His former boss, Barack Obama, also appeared on the show during his presidency; however, the interview was pre-recorded.

Biden, for his part, is set to discuss “his legacy, including the administration’s accomplishments, his hopes for the remaining months in the White House, and the state of the 2024 campaign,” per a press release provided to DECIDER.

Now let’s see if Behar can keep her crude jokes in check for the remainder of the episode!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
