The View had a very important guest at the Hot Topics table this morning: Vice President Kamala Harris, or, as Whoopi Goldberg called her, “The next President of the United States.”

After discussing everything from Harris’ policies to the impending Category 5 hurricane that’s slated to hit Florida this week, Joy Behar reflected on The View’s time with the Democratic nominee.

“She was great. She was fantastic,” Behar gushed. “And she’s tough. I like that about her. She’s a prosecutor.”

Harris’ willingness to do a live interview was a stark contrast to her opponent, former president Donald Trump, according to Behar, who speculated that he’d be too “scared” to come on The View.

“He doesn’t go on any interviews now because he’s afraid they’re gonna fact-check him,” she said. “The other thing — he wouldn’t go on 60 Minutes. He would never come here. He’s scared of us.”

“I just feel like those people how there who still don’t know who to vote for — I can’t believe it — they should take a look at the two of them,” Behar continued. “One is a coward and one is brave. That’s another point to be made.”

The comedian added, “I’ve been watching him lately. He’s really taken a drop. He’s starting to really ramble. He’s not making any sense anymore. And that’s scary.”

Meanwhile, Goldberg reminded Behar that Trump has “never made sense,” before further explaining her support for Harris.

“She’s not gonna get everything right for everybody on day one,” Goldberg said. “But I believe she’s actually gonna do her best to try and do it.”

Sunny Hostin, for her part, said Harris “brings this sense of hope in such a divisive time” that she hasn’t seen since Barack Obama was president.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
