Ever since Election Day, The View has had a certain … vibe shift. Tensions are flaring, fights are erupting, and Joy Behar is here to dish out the truth: It’s all Donald Trump‘s fault.
After a particularly fiery argument between Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin on this morning’s episode, Whoopi Goldberg stepped in to try and reign everyone in when the show returned from a commercial break.
Griffin and Hostin had been fighting to get words in during a debate about Trump’s plans for the Department of Education, leading Goldberg to swiftly cut to the segment short. When the show returned from their ad break, Goldberg was playing peacemaker.
“This is the beauty of people who have different opinions. Sometimes we’re messy,” she said. Referring to the difficulty she had that morning with a teleprompter, she added, “There’s something in the air.”
Behar, with her signature bluntness, cut in to say, “You know what’s in the air, Whoopi? Trumpism. We lost the election—” but when she noticed the audience was laughing, she paused and said, “Wait a minute! We lost the election, we’re miserable. Half of this country is miserable.”
Her words, however serious they may have been, still had her co-hosts in hysterics. Sara Haines was even reduced to putting her head into her hands over Behar’s theory. Still, she forged ahead, telling the table, “Let’s just tell the truth. We hate that he won! We hate it!”
Behar leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms as the audience erupted into applause, but she wasn’t done yet. She added, “And everybody is uptight and crazy right now.”

When Goldberg tried to get the chat back on track, saying, “We’re gonna go back to the convo that we were having,” Behar was wary, asking, “Must we? Alright, go ahead.”
But, being Behar, she didn’t go silently. When Hostin clarified, “I’m not gonna say I hate that he won. I don’t feel that way,” her co-host piped in to say, “I do!”
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
