For most teams, a tell of things going especially well would be getting contributions from the bottom of their order.
For the Yankees, it has become increasingly the norm.
A deep lineup has begun frequently flexing its muscle one through nine, and on Sunday it was the bottom half that again powered the Yankees to a seventh straight win.
The eighth and ninth hitters, Jose Trevino and Jon Berti, combined to drive in five runs as the Yankees finished off a sweep of the White Sox with a 7-2 win in The Bronx.
Trevino continued to swing a hot bat, delivering a two-run single that tied the game in the second inning before Berti hit his first home run of the year, visiting the short porch for a three-run shot that put the Yankees (33-15) up for good in the fourth.
With their fourth sweep of the season, the Yankees, who have won 13 out of 15, have already matched their 2023 total.
For the first time in over a week, a Yankee starter allowed more than one run, but Carlos Rodon was still plenty good enough as he gave up just two runs across six solid innings. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.27 in 10 starts, building on his bounce-back season against his former team.
The White Sox (14-33) took the lead briefly in the second inning, but as with any deficit for the Yankees during their winning streak, it didn’t last long. As they had the other two times they trailed during this seven-game stretch, the Yankees took the lead back in the next half inning thanks to the bottom of the order.
Anthony Rizzo (2-for-4) singled and Gleyber Torres (2-for-4) doubled before Trevino slashed a single through the right side to tie it.
Trevino, who was later robbed of a home run by left fielder Corey Julks, is now batting .343 (24-for-70) with 16 RBIs over his last 23 games.

Rizzo and Torres set the table again in the fourth inning, this time for Berti (2-for-3), who poked a three-run homer to put the Yankees up 5-2.
Aaron Judge later added his 13th home run of the season — and his seventh in the last 13 games — on a short-porch special for the 7-2 lead.
Entering Sunday, the Yankees’ seven through nine hitters had combined to post a .709 OPS this season, good for the fourth-best mark in the majors. The lineup is poised to get even deeper by next week, when DJ LeMahieu could make his season debut if his rehab assignment goes well.
