Noteworthy items from the Yankees’ Grapefruit League action on Friday:
Jose Trevino picked up a pair of hits while playing a full nine innings for the first time this spring.
In an otherwise strong defensive game for the Yankees, Gleyber Torres couldn’t handle a sharp ground ball to second base off the bat of Francisco Lindor.
Juan Soto, Anthony Volpe and Trent Grisham each turned in quality catches.
Soto made a running catch up against the right field wall in the second inning and Volpe made a difficult, diving catch going back to shallow left field in the fifth inning.

Grisham then started a double play on a terrific diving grab in the gap in the sixth inning.
Starling Marte was rounding second when Grisham caught the ball, allowing the Gold Glove center fielder to easily double him off at first.
The Yankees have split-squad duty (both 1:05 p.m. games), with Carlos Rodon starting against the Phillies at Steinbrenner Field and Cody Poteet and Clayton Beeter pitching against the Tigers in Lakeland, Fla.
